It never should’ve gone this long unattended. I visited my husband over the weekend and he looked dirty and unshaven and his hair was stand all over his head. This condition would have never if they had been easing his hair and rinsing the soap out. I could add more, but hopefully you get the picture. The kitchen area is very huge, nice, and bright, but it’s kind of small. They have at least 3 or 4 things every day. We’re very Catholic in South Louisiana, and they do have the rosary once a week. There are a couple of times a month that they take them to Wal-Mart.

They do not belong to a continuing care community. We liked Colonial Care Retirement Center a lot. It smells good and doesn’t have that nursing home smell.
About a month later she sustained injuries so bad that I had her transported to the hospital. The ONLY communication I received from management was that facility sent a CNA home while they investigated. They never communicated with me about the incident after. Baton Rouge PD still has an open investigation and the Louisiana Attorney General has investigated. If these options aren’t available to you, check if your loved one has long-term care insurance or contact your Area Agency on Aging to ask about any local financial assistance programs for seniors.
If a nursing home has no deficiencies, it means that it met the minimum standards at the time of the inspection. Inspections don't identify nursing homes that give outstanding care. You have a few that are rude that work there but that’s usually at any place you go to now.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was very clean, there was no smell, and it was very nice. They have a room where you can go do puzzles and stuff like that. I was real comfortable in my room, but it was very tiny. The bathroom was very nice and very accommodating.
