When my mother was in the hospital the staff their told us that she will likely need nursing home placement. I was really skeptical and nervous about that but they provided a list of nursing homes in the area and said to go to nursing home compare on the medicare website to help me with my decision. I came across this facility and noticed that it had a 4 star rating.
So, I called the facility and spoke with their staff. I told them about my concerns and they were very helpful and understanding. They went through their covid policies with us and assured us that she will be taken care of.

About a month later she sustained injuries so bad that I had her transported to the hospital. The ONLY communication I received from management was that facility sent a CNA home while they investigated. They never communicated with me about the incident after. Baton Rouge PD still has an open investigation and the Louisiana Attorney General has investigated. My husband is in Sterling Place, a nursing home in Baton Rouge. He’s been there for several weeks, and I haven’t had any problems with them. The staff has all been very nice to me, very caring, and very concerned. They have activities, but my husband is not a participant. His dementia is very advanced now, so he’s not into it. They’ve been remodeling since the hurricane, when they’ve had problems.

We also recommend giving them a call to address any additional senior and nursing care questions you may have after reviewing their Nursing Home Site profile. They have bingo where they win some play money, and with that play money, they can buy different items that you would get at a grocery store. They have a central kitchen, and they do laundry at a nominal charge per week. They have an attached nursing home next to them as part of their facility, so you can go from assisted living to nursing home with a minor move. The new staffer was much more attentive and seemed to be very friendly to my grandmother. My grandmother even seemed much more content. The facility is usually clean and the staff friendly. I just wish she had more opportunities to interact with other residents other than meals. My mother is settled and comfortable at The Guest House.
Or get this, a scoop of mac and cheese, 3 bag meatballs and peach cobbler.
